Powell's endorsement of Obama was a surprise to absolutely nobody, well
not me anyway. I will not be surprised to learn at some future
date that it was choreographed by Obama himself for maximum
impact, and it does have that, because a lot of people see Powell as a
brilliant warrior, and a Republican.
He is no Norman Schwarzkopf, and his instincts were
often dangerously wrong. But, he was/is a ruthless bureaucratic
infighter which is what it takes, alas. As Sec/State he was also,
well, disloyal. He was, and is, a pussy. A disloyal
pussy. Powell's stated reason for supporting Obama?
Well, pretty much the same reason those Harlem folks so eloquently expressed. He sees Obama as a "transitional figure." That's it. Boy, he would be that. I wonder if Colon approves of Obama's choice of Sarah Palin as Vice President?

Durring extended times of peace, polititions and bureaucrats rise into the upper ranks in the millitary. When war breaks out, they are swept away and replaced with warriors. We have seen the cycle through out our history. And I wouldnt rule out 'Affirmative Action' in his case either.

*uck Powell. He undermined Bush at State, leaked damaging info and fought against Bush's policies. He also advocated to stop before we had Saddam out in the first Gulf War-it gave Bush 41 the excuse he needed to desist operations and it of course necessitated the invasion in 2003 and the subsequent loss of over 4,000 Americans. Better to have 1,000s of Iraqis die on the "Highway of Death"(thank you *ucking media) then our guys having to clean up after this asshole.
