Can anyone tell me what this is, what it's supposed to do, and why I bought it?

  1. Is that a wireless net extender? I have to have one for my shi**y laptop, it has a lame card. It's not as big as your looks, though.

  2. Looks to me like a large external USB WiFi adapter, probably for a desktop rather than a laptop.

    It is a wireless network adapter, it allows you to connect your PC/laptop to a wireless network using a USB port. You purchased it so you can connect to a wireless network.

    Used to give a PC or laptop without wireless the ability to connect to a wifi network.

    Meant for a PC, most older non-wifi laptops have a card-slot ( you want the g100 model for those ).

  11. 'kay. Wireless makes sense. Thanks. I'm trying to make it work with my electric hedge clippers as we speak. Looks like I may need a kit that installs a USB connection on them first.
