Chris Ex Machina offers thoughts on Argentina's renewed bluster on the Islas Malvinas Falkland Islands.

The story is timely, but the metaphor is 5-star  precious.   Later  (Our long dark night is [almost] over), a clot is recognized  for his own play on words, gaffe—  calling Malvinas the Maldives.

By way of precedent:

.Following the inauguration of William J. Clinton as the 42nd president of the United States on January 20, 1993, allegations of ethical improprieties were made against Sessions. A report presented to the Justice Department that month by the Office of Professional Responsibility included criticisms that he had used an FBI plane to travel to visit his daughter on several occasions and had had a security system installed in his home at government expense. Janet Reno, the 78th Attorney General of the United States, announced that Sessions had exhibited "serious deficiencies in judgment." Although Sessions denied that he had acted improperly, he was pressured to resign in early July and when he refused to do so he was fired on July 19.

The Staggeringly Stupid Debbie Wasserman

The Staggeringly Stupid Debbie Wasserman S......

“Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz’s request of Governor Romney to release his tax returns screams of hypocrisy, because to the best of our knowledge, Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz has never released a single tax return of her own. As a member of Congress, she is required to release a yearly ‘financial disclosure,’ this yearly disclosure is not a tax return.

“While asking for Governor Romney to release his past tax returns, and In keeping with the spirit of President Obama’s call for ‘full transparency,’ we ask Congressman Wasserman Schultz to release her own tax returns.” [DNC Chief Called on to Release Tax Returns]

How is it possible to deal with a mentality like Wasserman's?  She has the chutzpah to make this request of Romney- even as she fronts for Obama?  We today know more about the  details of  Osama bin Laden's life than of our own president's, and she asks for Romney's tax return?  See Louie?  This is why.

SHERLOCK

SHERLOCK

Aficionados know about SHERLOCK, I suppose, but in case ... .

Sherlock is a British television series that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. After an unbroadcast pilot in 2009, the first series of three 90-minute episodes was transmitted on BBC One and BBC HD in July and August 2010, with a second series of three episodes first broadcast in January 2012. A third series has been commissioned and will reportedly air in 2013. The series has been sold to over 180 territories. [Wiki]

I watched the first one last night [A Study in Pink] and found it captivating.   One entertainment is that the relationship (ahem) betwixt Holmes and Watson is broached in a brilliant repartee while the two dine for the first time  (Watson:  Do you have a girlfriend?  Holmes, That's not my style ...  Watson:  ...).   The bad news (for me) is only two remain on NetFlix, and even if the 2012 series were available it would only be five.  I likes me dalliances by the gross. But WAIT! You can watch season two online!

You're welcome
