Montgomery County Tax

A CONTEST
Rockville next month will become the first Maryland jurisdiction to use photo radar to catch speeders.
A camera-equipped vehicle that will monitor 15 spots is part of a larger program in Montgomery County that in March will include six other camera-equipped vehicles moving throughout the county.
"We are confident that in a short time after we start using them, these cameras will show how they are making a difference in slowing speeders," Rockville Mayor Larry Giammo said. [Full]

First off, you need to know that Montgomery County MD is a bastion of  ass hat liberals who spend more money than they have, so  they take it  from everyone else in the state.  That's still not enough money, so that's what this is about Mayor Giammo, you lying sack of  Obama.  It's bad enough that cameras are, under the guise of crime protection, watching every damn thing we do, but these, like the stop light ticket generators, are nothing more than a tax. My proposal to the adventuresome is find creative ways to destroy them.  How about this contest: Longest sniper shot on a ticket camera?  Make your claim here.

  1. In Australia the cops use the Multinova which is a portable hidden and stationary speed camera. They usually try and conceal them behind trees etc. The thing takes a photo of your car and you get a ticket in the mail. I've heard of several instances where people destroyed them :-)

  2. I think in this matter you have to ask WWJD? I'm pretty sure Jefferson would have declared war on them.

  3. Mebbe try this: Get the mayor's license number, paint it up, temp paste it over yours, and ZOOM by the closest camera. Could be a decent prank.

  4. Best one I heard of happened in Australia. Some kids chatted up the driver of one of the camera vans, while their friend took the front license plate off of it. They put the plate on a car and drove past the van about 30 times--above the speed limit. Van took pictures and "wrote itself" 30 tickets!!!

  5. The cameras might make exellent pylons for RC aiplane races. My guess is some type of proxy switch activates them so they would make good locations for bird feeders.I wonder what lazer light does to them? Mirrors are always fun. Bee pheremone (sp?), where do you get that stuff?

    Thinking on keyboard here boss.

I got a couple of those tickets when I worked in DC. I took some black electrical tape and wrote FUCK DC on my tags and sped through the camera near Galludet U.
Don't think I have enough room on my tag (or enough tape!) to do it for Rockville.....

  7. Ironic how the same band of dumb-asses who want terrorists rights protected is starting to set up cameras in every damn direction to ticket Americans.

Lucky I live in a hole of a town with nothing in the way of traffic cameras.

Considering Big Brother's intrusion into UK citizens lives, this page restores some hope that my British friends may rise up and throw off the shackles of Parliment.

  9. I actually live in Rockville. This sucks. I want to move somewhere without a nanny state.
