Cuzzin Ricky sent me a Power
Point Presentation on deforestation that was so compelling I converted
it to video. There are a lot of scientific terms used, but I'm
sure you won't have any problem. There is one caveat.
Women, children, and those not wishing to compromise their eternal
souls should avoid watching (there is some unfortunate imagery).
In fact, I've taken it off site. You'll have to go here.

Now Rodger, I've always been a Global Warming skeptic, but I must tell you, this concerns me! I'm no climate scientist, but from what I've seen (in this report, and in my own extensive, and I do mean extensive, online research) indeed the peaks are higher at the very time that groundcover is decreasing. I do beg to differ with the report on one point: What they classify as "forests" I'd say are more accurately known as simple bushes. Sure, it's just a semantic difference, but C&S is all about accuracy.

Well, it could be pseudoscience, but based on this evidence, why take chances? I think a federal grant of a measly $2 million would allow a expert or two to study this for, oh, say, about ten years. Shall I write this one up, or are you claiming first dibs, Rodger?

The natural vegetation has been progressively diminishing...
ReplyDeleteWhoever said that hasn't seen my Amazonian back yard this summer.
As to the subjects of the study video, given that they/we are carbon based life forms, it's the silicone stupid.

Not to mention male pattern baldness.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention the loss of endangered crab habitat.
ReplyDeleteA Choice, Not an Echo
ReplyDeleteEven worse from my perspective, the deforestation is spreading northward.
ReplyDeleteCase in point: look at old and new pictures of Kathy Ireland. Notice the difference?
She's just representative of an irritating trend. Girls, leave your eyebrows alone! These plucked, thin eyebrows are a turn-off. Good: Sarah Silverman. Bad: Paris Hilton.
You get the idea.
Those fields look mighty fertile and with the ground cover of bushes and or trees out of the way, I say it's the right time to plow deep and sew seed. This doesn't mean that the promulgation of a crop is necessary as this area can be laid out for recreational use and this entire spread can be put to use for the pursuit of healthful and pleasurable athletic endeavors.A firm hand is called for here and the proper fore preparation will insure many years of satisfying useage of this cozy little nook and meadow.....Down the road of course, one may decide to leave this field fallow and possibly allowed to return to woodland.
ReplyDeleteI had always heard you couldnt grow grass on a playground.....
