MSNBC
host Tamron Hall MSNBC lashed out at actor Scott Baio at the Republican
Convention in Cleveland on Tuesday for what she clearly considers
inappropriate social media messages in the political arena, demanding
to know whether they represent the “moral compass” that Biao wants to
present.
But the confrontation clearly turned in an unwelcome direction for her
when Baio cited President Obama’s “gun” quote.
That was in June of 2008, when Obama said, on the campaign trail,
“They’re going to try to scare people. They’re going to try to say that
‘that Obama is a scary guy.’ If they bring a knife to the fight, we
bring a gun, because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good
brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”
Hall immediately denied Obama said that.
“That’s absolutely not true,” she claimed.
Baio had said, “You want me to be sweet and gentle to a man, a
president, who says if they bring a knife to an argument, you bring a
gun. That’s what President Obama said.”
He
was right ....
I began watching "Morning Joe" last summer, as the primaries were heating up and they acted as a conduit for Trump in the early stages. As they would cajole and joke in a friendly manner with 'The Donald', I actually started to believe they were coming around to a moderate stance on conservatives.
ReplyDeleteAnd then Cruz dropped out, and the pivot was immediate. They turned to the standard attack dog process that is widely scripted on MessNBC. It reminded me on the parody about McCain and the 'old grey lady' (NYTimes) that is played on Rush's show occasionally. They'll use you for the ratings boost, and then it's a swift kick to the curb.
I SO hope Trump ignores them for his entire term in office. It would be sweet.
Baio not only was correct, Obama plagiarized it from The Untouchables.
ReplyDelete"They pull a knife, you pull a gun."
ironic in view of the Melania Trump uproar.

ReplyDelete"It's the Chicago way."
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of plagiarism, the MSM didn't miss a millisecond to criticize Melania Trump for using the some words that Moochelle uddered some years before.
ReplyDeleteShe said "... you work hard for what you want in life" "... your word is your bond...", "...you do what you say you're going to do"..."
Plagiarize? C'mon, that's American dream/American values boiler plate that's been spewed by thousands of speakers for the past century.
Which previous user of those commonplace phrases did Moochelle get it from, hmmm?

Scott Baio is well-informed, poised, and not willing to back down.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't belong in Hollywood.
