Win10 Must Die
Earlier
in the week Win 10 managed to, well, not delete all my image files; just
their content. I mean, everything. And, on two back-up drives as
well.
Yesterday I reached out to commenter Joe Wood. He did
magic. I am whole again.

Well, you've got talent. Don't know how you managed that, but I've never had any issues with Win 10 or updates.
That does sound a bit strange and I hate to say possible user error. I've been using Windows for a while through various versions and while it has some quirk it has never just up and destroyed my files. I have only had things like that happen with hardware failure.
Do not set up your laptop to sync with your desktop and then give your laptop to some else while leaving your account on it. The person you gave it too will remove your stuff and that in turn will wipe your cloud drive and everything synchronized to it. Don't do that.
Windows 10 gives you a ton of free cloud space on OneDrive. Just store all your backup there for free. It'll even sync for you. Case closed. Thank you. imarc m

How I managed that was by accessing my files. Just like that. Last week win10 ... what the hell, this is a story with no end.
ReplyDeleteWe switched to Ubuntu Linux years ago and aren't ever going back.

ReplyDeleteHow did you guy get them back if they were gone?

ReplyDeleteOdd. Never had that happen on any of the Win systems here, and I run six of them - as well as Linux on a 7th.
