Bitchin' Rides

hobbies du jure

Bitchin' Rides has edged out Wheeler Dealers as my favorite gear-head show.  Dave Kindig owns Kindig-It Design, a car customizer in Salt Lake City.  I'll use this as an example of their design prowess.  A client brought in a 1959 Buick Invicta. This is the last car in the world I'd want in my garage, in any condition.  However, by show's end I not only would love to own it, I'd find a way to mount it on my living room wall.  Kindig-it does everything in house; their style is "clean lines."  They custom manufacture steel and aluminum bodies; instruments, door openers, blah-blah-blah.  They can print parts on their 3-D printer, they have a giant plasma cutter,  paint and upholstery departments that are magnificentANDthey can put an entire car on a "rotisserie" and rotate  for access.  The staff are expert. The downside is that I'm about to run out of new episodes.  (Velocity)

White Children Learn How Peaceful Islam Is
When They Meet Muslim Migrants

But why is this happening so rampantly between Muslim migrants and non-Muslim Westerners? We’ve always been taught that race has no bearing on character, and that they are no different from us. However, it isn’t race, nationality, or even culture that has created this silent war among us.

Islam knows no skin color, nor does it vary much from country to country. Because Islam is an ideology, its fundamentals remain constant throughout centuries of migration. Because its fundamentals are violent, it cannot ever be an ideology compatible with any others.

FBI Wants Apple to Unlock My Cloud
So far they refuse.

So here's the problem.  Three or 4 months after I bought this thing (iPad Air) I began getting notices that I'm nearly out of space.  Even after I deleted all pics, etc., the warning continued.  The suggested solution was to buy more Apple storage.  Okay, I signed up for 200 GB at a $3.95  monthly (or thereabouts).   No more messages for 6-7 mos- even though the new Cloud file had zero space  used --  when BANG, the warning is back.

The solution was 1.0 TB Cloud memory @ $9.95/mo.  Now of a sudden the warnings are back.  As you can see, not an inch of the 2TB Cloud is being used.  One would assume that when Apple contracted  me for more storage that their MFCS!#!!!# system would automatically use it.  But no.  Anyone have a solution?

Aside, After spending too much time trying to contact Apple support, I finally got an appointment for an on-line chat at a certain time.  They were a no-show.

Greatest conspiracy? Even greater than Obama's presidency?

Who is James Delingpole?:
Good evening ladies and gentlemen; Guten Abend meine Damen und Herren. May I say how grateful I am to Staffan Wennberg and the World Taxpayers Associations for inviting me to speak in Berlin. This is my first time here since 1978.

I was a schoolboy then. I learned my first German: “Was trinken wir? Schultheiss Bier.” Now I’m grown up and married with children even older than I was then. Yesterday I went on a tour and I couldn’t help noticing there seem to have been one or two changes.

Now compare and contrast the global warming industry – which I call a Potemkin industry – because that’s what it is: a fraud; a sham; a conspiracy against the taxpayer. Do you want to have a guess how much that industry would be worth if it weren’t for all the money funnelled into it via government grants and taxpayer levies and subsidies and regulatory capture? Pretty close to zero, I’d say.
When I last came I have to confess that the Wall was the highlight of my trip. So echt Cold War. So Spy Who Came In From The Cold!

I remember taking the U-bahn underneath the wall, passing through the East German side, and seeing empty grey platforms where the train never stopped, and lurking in the shadows grim looking guards with machine guns.

And you know how they say: “If you’re not a communist by the time you’re 18 then you’re heartless and if you’re not a capitalist by the time you’re 40 then you’re brainless.”?

Well I’m afraid I skipped that first stage and went straight to the second. All it took was that little glimpse of East Germany – a place so horrible that if you tried to escape they would shoot you with machine guns – to give me an abiding preference for free markets. Small Government. And low taxes.

[....]

Last year Climate Change Business Journal – calculated that the total annual spend on the climate change industry is $1.5 trillion a year.

All those carbon traders, climate researchers, renewables and biofuels experts, environment correspondents, professors of climate science at the University of East Anglia and the Potsdam Institute, sustainability officers on local councils, and so on, add up the cost of their grants and salaries – and $1.5 trillion per year is the ballpark figure you reach.

So what does $1.5 trillion look like in a global economic context?

Well, it’s roughly the amount we spend every year on the online shopping industry.

$1.5 trillion on the global warming industry; $1.5 trillion on the online shopping industry.

But there’s a key difference between these two industries.

One exists to provide buyers and sellers what they want – to their mutual benefit; the other is a sham. [FULL]

AWK!  This thought is pervasive.  "Why am I posting this?  Can there be anyone out there not exposed to actual climate facts?  Are they even reachable now, cloistered as they are inside social media cocoons  where inconvenient truths are heresy and ridiculed? "

No. Else the scam could not have survived.

As a lark I took this poll: Answer the following questions to see which 2016 Presidential candidate you side with.  As polls go, this was one of the best I've run across given the options to express "other."  The results say I'm ideologically more in tune with Cruz ...

I am a Trumper, but this wasn't entirely a surprise.

What does it tell me?

It tells me that the differences betwixt Cruz and Trump are negligible.  Certainly not enough to warrant the nuclear war the GOP are running against Trump So, the answer is what we knew from the get-go: This is about GOP CONTROL.  Cruz is GOP establishment, Trump is not.  Which is why it's in the better interest of the our nation to vote Trump and inject a massive dose of radiation into the cancer ridden GOP. Say Amen.

Easter 1956

Res Ipsa Loquitur        Happy Easter

If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him

Voltaire's statement was made as part of his larger argument that the existence of God and/or belief in God are beneficial and necessary for civilized society to function. The larger context of the debate in which he was engaged at the time indicates that he did not intend this statement to be an ironic quip essentially claiming that God is fictional, as it is commonly used today.

In fact, the statement was made as part of a piece that he wrote comdemning and refuting an atheistic essay called "The Three Imposters".
