In fact these cheap illegal immigrants are holding back progress in America. The work these people do would have been automated out of existence long ago except the labor is too cheap to be replaced by machines.

In areas of the US where there are very few illegals, the construction, landscaping and agriculture companies have heavily invested in equipment to do these tasks and are doing just fine. And the people who operate the equipment earn good money.
