Pissing on Kos

Forecast: Showers on the Kos Parade
The Cindy-Sheehan left have marshaled their pitiful resources (Daily Kos and Moveon.org) against Jos. Lieberman in the CT primary. I always thought it was a futile effort, and at best would result in the Republican winning a three-way race that included Donk Lamont and Independent Lieberman. As the rhetoric has escalated though, I would myself now vote for Lieberman were I a Connecticutter, so this is a heartening analysis.
''Even [if] he does lose, the likelihood is still that the next Senator of Connecticut will be named Joseph Lieberman. As a centrist, he is well placed to scoop up independent, even moderate Republican voters. One poll gives him 44 per cent in a three way general election, as much as Lamont and the official Republican candidate combined.''

What fun it will be to see Joe Lieberman voting with Republicans to organize the Senate in 2007, truly a Kos-Moveon Golden Shower moment.

I really hope the Lamont beats Lieberman in the primary. That is a win/win/win.

Lamont wins - we highlight how moonbatty the Dems are and it turns off Independents.

Lieberman wins (most likely) - he's freed to vote however the heck he wants to, and starts voting more with the Reps (even if he is way liberal, he might be a little spiteful).

No name Rep wins - As Lieberman and Lamont split the vote Alan whatever his name is actually squeaks out a victory and put one more (albeit squishy) R in the Senate.

Personally, I’m hoping for a pissed off Independent Lieberman winning CT.

I'm with you. While I know nothing about the presumptive Republican candidate, intuition tells me he would have to be way RINO to even bother running in that lefty state. Had he not jettisoned his principle overnight after being picked as Gore's VP mate, I'd actually prefer someone with his integrity. AS it is, he's only the most upstanding Democrat in the senate, for whatever that's worth.

As a fellow Marylander, I think we should be more concerned with seeing Michael Steele through to victory. His opposition has already demonstrated their intention to play extra-dirty, with the credit report thing.

How much dirtier can the pusbags get? I would hope that the prospect of saying "Senator Greasy Emfoomay'' will be enough to scare crap out of the decent folks in the state.
