churlish thoughts

Today's delectatio morosa
I tend to agree with Colin Powell's assessment that plans to send more troops to Iraq is a WTF?  Not that we send them, but the way we will do it. Face it, by turning congress over to the surrender monkeys last month, we announced our de facto, if not de lege ferenda, national intention to cut and run.  If the current plan is to, de integro go in and kill Muqtada al-Sadr, and other bad guys, you can't announce that it's a temp deployment or they'll simply go to the mattresses for the duration.

I suggest an old fashioned parachute drop of the 82nd, 101st, and whatever other jump forces we have, into a city of choice, and sweep it clean.   I tell the troops up front that, no matter what they do, I will pardon them (I'm of course the President here).  Blam-blam-blam.
  • Also. anyone who suggests talking with Iran about keeping the peace in Iraq is unfit, and should be removed from whatever seat of influence he/she holds.
  • Also, if Bush is actually going to cut a deal with the new congress to raise taxes, I don't care about any of this, because I'm dropping behind the scenes, and joining the resistance.

I'm widges Rodger. Gotta take the gloves off. Audacity and ferocity is overdue in Iraq. Both the Saddamites and the Mahdi army need annihilation. I need to buy some more ammo just in case the civil war comes sooner rather than later.

A solid plan. The only thing I'd do differently is drop a couple dozen Daisey Cutters first. Let the boys from the 82nd and 101st mop up and secure.

Personally I think our whole problem in Iraq has been that we haven't killed enough of the right people. Our guys have been hamstrung with all this 'winning the hearts and minds' crap. If we are in a war-- then fight like it's a war.

Our country doesn't think we are in a war because it hasn't affected our day to day life. The politicians have been afraid to ask for any sacrifice on our part for fear of the hyperventilating hand wringers. WTF?

(ahhh) I feel better now, thanks,

agree with Colin Powell?

you must be drinking egg nog without whiskey...

hell, we are winning over there...

the only problem is, the liberal Democrats who want to destroy Conservatives-Republicans, no matter if the lives of the 25 million Iraqis are at stake, or if the future of the Free World is in the balance.

the MSM, unethical Democrats, have succeeded in making this Country believe this is a poor economy...

it is that insane.

HNAV, yes we are winning, and in fact have come pretty damned close to pulling off a miraculous transformation of the Middle East. By the same token, before Desert Storm, our victory over the Viet Cong during the TET offensive stood as the most complete and overwhelming in our nation's history. The Viet Cong's ability to wage war was destroyed utterly.

Now. as then, we are undercut by the American left and their media. Or have I missed something? Really, I'm open here.

Roger having made about 64 static line jumps I have to say the jump needs to be mad about a half mile from the town. You would need 2 airborne operations one would be for the assault on the town the other to cut off any escape by the thugs. Then you have them in what is called a kill box. everything in the box dies. That is after you give women and children the opertunity to vacate the box. No men any man that wants to surrender can before the shooting starts after that it is to late.

There has to be an answer to the media problem not that I want a media that is a rubber stamp for the administration but I would at least like them to be fair.

Someone explain to me why Iran has declared war on us and is providing support to our enemies how we can win without dealing them. Also how can we win in Afganistan without dealing with the enemy across the border in pakistan?
