| “ | The Barn Army video has rolled off the page, but wait! It's living art, and will be updated as new recruits enlist (ahem, Jamie Mac, Alear, El Jefe, Josh, Stoo, Sherry, MCPO Airedale, and many more who I'll think of in the middle of the night).
A while back Juice made a comment, on the order of, "Too bad the Barn Army isn't a reality ... ."
It is.
The Barn Army joins the United States Military, Navel, Air Force, Coast
Guard Academies, and the Boy Scouts of America as a leadership
resource. But, with one important distinction. The Barn Army is not under Posse Comitatus Act restraint. We can invade Canada and
Vermont. When all hell breaks loose, it will be a Barn Army guy
giving the command that sends ratbastardcommies swinging from
trees. It will be Barn Army pilots who send Seattle, Berkeley and
Olympia into the sea. The sound of Barn Army aoogah horns will
fill the air, and that air will smell of that sweet olfactory olio -
cordite, barbecue, beer and cigars! AOOGAH!
I need a drink.

Herr Doktor Professor Schlong, would you care to cross the river and join me at the NRA range some fine day?
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me. Is the position of Barn Army Armorer still open?
ReplyDeleteAlthough the SA80 (the ones in the picture) sure looks cool, I believe I would issue the troops the Tavor.

The New Royal Navy??.......Blessings on the hand of bosuns
ReplyDeleteAngels guard their strength and grace,
From days of mighty caravel,
Oh, no matter where the place;
Would that never storms assailed it,
Rainbows ever gently please,
For the hand that rocks the hammock,
Is the hand that rules the seas,
Bootcamp is the learned fountain,
Power may no mercy show,
Bosuns first to guide the streamlets,
From them salts unresting grow--
Grow on for the good, none evil,
Sunshine stiffled nor evil deeds,
For the hand that rocks the hammock
Is the hand that loose'd the seeds...........(Take off on "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle")
Need a surgeon? I may drink a little too much, but it keeps the hands from shaking!
ReplyDelete"...cordite, barbecue, beer and cigars"
ReplyDeleteI dare any REAL AMERICAN to name something that smells better than those four (each in their own category, of course).
Hmmm....well, yeah, OK. It's a push. Beer or Bourbon. Either one is fine with me!
P.S. The BA pic is now in your inbox...CHEERS!
So, we have to shoot Brit ammo loaded before WW2? It has been that long since Cordite.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that is one of my pet peeves. The "stench of Cordite" is a specific smell. It is much different than regular nitrocellulose smokeless powder. Back when I was a boy we shot some real cordite in old Lee Enfield .303s. It is a smell we don't forget and few living people have ever smelt.
