In the hour before the Game Show Network turns their electrons over to Paid Commercials--those irritating half-hour presentations on products and services no one needs nor desires--make sure you record "What's My Line?" and "I've Got A Secret."
Recorded between 1955 and 1965, these shows offer you a unique glimpse at life from the years prior to Helter-Skelter.
From Sally Rand to the fella that "invented" the Zip Code, each night's program has some nugget of Americana that amuses me with a certain nostalgia of better days gone by.
I certainly agree with Oregonguy, the problem is at my age nostalgia ain't what it use to be.......

Rodge, that was great! I was 6 in 1956 and that was when I first went to Disneyland. That little movie brought back so many memories.
Living just a few miles from Universal Studios nowyybeivll, it was strange to suddenly see it the way it used to be. It's obnoxious now!
Thanks, Rodge! That was wonderful!
'nowyybeivll' is supposed to be 'now' above! HA!
I was one yr. old, didn't see it tell I was 10. I was arrested at DL when I was 21.

Beyond charming! What a great story.
I remember when women and girls wore dresses/skirts. Men wore pants.
My folks used to torture me into wearing dresses whenever we went someplace. Damn. I had 3 bro's and I wanted to wear jeans!
Looking at this film I see....not so bad after all. ;)
Rare I comment on your site Rodge but ..wow this brought so much memory's..to much
