Founding Bloggers Video

USA! UAS! USA!
The anti-Bush mobile museum dubbed “The Bush Legacy Tour” bus rolled its way through Denver for the Democratic Convention this week, and your Founding Bloggers took the dime tour to see first-hand how Moveon-dot-org would write the Bush legacy if given a chance.

To get a taste for yourself how unbalanced this display of partisanship is, you can visit the official website of the tour. The themes are well known to most; worst economy ever, responsible for Katrina damage, destroying the environment, doing big oil’s bidding…blah blah blah.

The truly offensive section on the bus though is the Iraq installation. Americans United For Change, the people who are responsible for rolling out this mobile museum, don’t seem to have any problem showing insurgent snuff-films for political gain, or calling the war a failure while we have troops in the field fighting and winning the battle. EdA - God Bless these guy! Not only serving our country but being non-confrontational and classy with a dim-witted parrot of the left. I actually feel for the tour guide a bit. He knows not what he does.

That was a thing of beauty to watch. Stuttering moonbats, calm and reasonable discourse from a rational and knowledgeable man. Ah. be still my heart.

...from my perspective?? What a POS. I avoid this kind of horseshit, I go from 0-60 much too fast. Fat boy would have been a whole different kind of ugly when I left that bus.

Amen, MM. I'm the same way. If I saw that thing, I'd turn around and walk the other way. I know that if I got within ten feet of that thing I'd end up trying to burn it to the ground - preferably with those morons still inside. The fact that those soldiers didn't do the same but effectively used reason is one of the top ten reasons I admire our military personnel so much.

I'm the "fatboy" "stuttering" "piece of shit" "dim-witted" "ugly" guy in the video. I totally agree: this is exactly what "rational" "reasonable discourse" should look like.

I gave an Iraq War Veteran the utmost respect he deserves. He is a hero. And out of my utmost respect, I was conciliatory, humbled, and open-minded to his opinions.

However, like the majority of the American people, the Iraqi parliament, and Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki, I dont want to see one more of our brave men and women dying in the crosshairs of an Iraqi civil war. I dont want to see another mother suffer, like the mother of Sgt. Patrick R. McCaffrey. Sgt. McCaffreys mother reached out to us with her sons story of how the Pentagon lied to her about her son being killed by the same Iraqi forces he was training. She donated his combat boots to the Bush Legacy Bus in hopes that not another mother would feel the same pain and betrayal.

I want our troops to come home from Iraq as quickly and responsibly as possible, and I want the eye back on the ball in Afghanistan where the real threat is where the terrorists that actually attacked us on 911 are thriving once again. Even Ambassador Ryan Crocker admits that Afghanistan, not Iraq, is the central front against Al Qaeda: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH57bOZbJ3o

Weve heard a lot from the liberal media you folks decry so much about the so-called success of the surge. The reality is, civil strife is still flaming every day: just one example this week, a suicide bomber killed 28 police recruits in Quaragh Tappah:
http://www.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUSLP67913620080826

But you probably didnt hear about that or any of the other deadly civil bombings this week or last or the week before. Certainly, the increased troop presence has helped decrease violence on U.S. forces, thank God, but terrible Shiite on Shiite violence continues every day, and a good deal of the overall decrease in violence is credited to a cease fire agreement between radical Shiite Muslim cleric Muqtada Sadr and Shiite Iraq PM Maliki.

Shiite on Shiite violence has been nothing new. And, in the last several months, the U.S. government has taken one side of a bloody, religious, sectarian civil war spending $12 billion a month and many U.S. dead and wounded in the process. Thats where Veterans for Freedom/John McCain and Americans United for Change, the American people, and the Iraqi government disagree. VFF and McCain want to keep our soldiers in harms way of a civil war indefinitely until they achieve some undefined, unattainable victory. But, our troops have already done everything theyve been asked to do and a lot more serving 2-3 or more tours. My best friend Dan is in Iraq right now on his second tour.

Now that the Iraqi parliament and PM Maliki have publicly called on us to leave and are close to a deal with the U.S. government for a timetable for withdrawal, its time that Vets for Freedom and John McCain of 2008 concur with John McCain of 2004 when asked what he would do if a sovereign Iraqi government asked us to leave: it's obvious that we would have to leave because -- if it was an elected government of Iraq, and we've been asked to leave other places in the world. If it were an extremist government then I think we would have other challenges, but I don't see how we could stay when our whole emphasis and policy has been based on turning the Iraqi government over to the Iraqi people.": http://www.democracyarsenal.org/2008/07/in-2004-mccain.html

Even President Bush has agreed to time horizons and his administration is reportedly set to agree to a status-of-forces agreement with Iraq that begins the safe and orderly withdrawal of most U.S. troops by the end of 2011. While stomping about the Bush Legacy Bus and complaining about our fact-based Iraq exhibit, I didnt once hear Veterans for Freedom call President Bush a traitor or a cut and runner. Why not?

Thank u Casca - i now know the level of debate on this particular site.

Been there, Jeremy?

I have. I was there in June 06, at the height of the violence, and stayed until September 07, when it was much difference. The "civil war" BS is exactly that: BS. The "troop presence" hasn't "helped decrease violence on US forces"; it's changed the dynamic of the people of Iraq. Yes, the people of Iraq.

The rest of your Soros talking points are crap, too. If I follow your logic, if President Bush (or McCain, or anyone else) talks about anything less than "100 years", they're buying you and Obama's "immediate pullout" crap. No one who has an open mind buys that, and neither should you. In fact, the stage has been set for victory, yes, victory in Iraq. That victory will be achieved when the Iraqi government is able to stand on its own, in line with the parameters we laid out.

If I may, Rodger, this site is not about "debate". It's about humor, sarcasm, and political comment. And it belongs to one guy, the inimitable Real King of France.

UFPJ was officially created on October 25, 2002 in the Washington, DC offices of People For the American Way. Its initial membership consisted of approximately 70 organizations. Prior to UFPJ's founding, the anti-war movement had earned a reputation as a hodgepodge of radical elements. All the large-scale peace demonstrations to that point had been held under the auspices of International ANSWER, an organization aligned with the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party; Global Exchange, headed by the longtime pro-Castro communist Medea Benjamin; and Not In Our Name, a project organized by Ramsey Clark and fellow leaders of the Revolutionary Communist Party. United For Peace and Justice was created explicitly to put a milder face on the anti-war movement, although from its inception UFPJ shared with the aforementioned groups a passionate hatred for the United States and for capitalism.

The Co-Chair and principal leader of UFPJ is Leslie Cagan, an original founder of the Committees of Correspondence (a remnant organization created by the American Communist Party upon going out of business) and a strong supporter of Fidel Castro since the 1960s; Cagan proudly aligns her politics with those of Communist Cuba. Thank you Fred, you're exactly right and I won't launch into my scathing fisk of fat boy's post. Suffice to say, it's his ilk that, in fact, gave hope to the terrorist's and their desire for another Vietnam like ending to their campaign in Iraq-with the same genocide at the end of that tunnel in store for Lord only knows how many 100s of 1,000s, or more, of Iraqis.

And besides, an exhibit with a gas pump saying Bush and Cheney's Oil War? How can you take anyone serious that honest to God believes President Bush invaded Iraq to enrich his "oil buddies" The sickening level of hypocrisy needed to nod your head in approval at something like that is truly beyond my understanding.

I suspect that unlike the commies for whom he toils, Jeremy J Funk is just a useful idiot, and true believer. But that's still no excuse.

Wow Rodg, you do good when you get all dressed up.

Mr Funk: You say "I want our troops to come home from Iraq as quickly and responsibly as possible, and I want the eye back on the ball in Afghanistan where the real threat is"

Of course all Americans want our troops out of harm's way. And thank you for saying "responsibly", which is where all the difference lies. But to claim that Afghanistan is where the threat is, well, you may want to check the news. The real threat is from Tehran. From a map, we currently have them almost completely surrounded, and it should stay that way until the mad mullahs back down.

JJ..you built a bus to show people how much you hate President Bush, the War and current Policy.

I truly do not care for your sort.

The only sound that I need to hear from you is the muffled sound of your Ballot being punched.

Mouth off with your vote. Please abstain from bringing that selfserving, one sided propoganda boat to Thousand Oaks, Ca.
I'm unfortunately not as polite as the Soldiers in the film.
