Georgetown Blows

EF G'TOWN

I'm not surprised the Terps lost to # 10 Gonzaga, in the second round of the Old Spice Classic.  The surprise came Thursday, when they clobbered #5 Michigan State.  That brings us to tomorrow's loser bracket game for third place.  The Terps will face off against the filthiest, most racist program in the United States - # 16 ranked Georgetown.  When unranked Maryland  beat then ranked  # 15 Georgetown, in the 1993 inaugural game of.an attempt to establish an annual tournament of DC area teams, John Thompson reneged on participating again.  In 2001 the two met  again, in the Sweet Sixteen, and the Terps again kicked G'town's ass on their way to the National Championship.  His kid's coaching the team now, but his name is still John Thompson.   Pray for the Terps, or the terrorists win.

Can't stand Georgetown, never could.

Damn. Once again I feel Gary Williams is saddled with a team that does not live up to his level of class and commitment. And I say that as a Duke grad.

Turing word: quespanc (Que spanc?)

He had some top notch front court commitments who inexplicably reneged at the last minute. They lost 6' 10" Gus Gilchrist to South Florida over a grade snafu - after the Terps failed to file file the proper paper work in an NCAA appeal. Had they done so, Gilchrest would have played last January, and the Terps would have been ranked #10 preseason. I blame AD Debbie Yow for that bungle.
