| After all the charges made by nameless cowards, and lapped up by the bull-sh** press, we finally, via Rich Lowry, hear from people who were there. Steve Biegun, who boned her on foreign policy. Boned her up on foreign policy. Briefed her! - said he considers the
leaks against her on the international stuff "absurd."

He
says there's no way she didn't know Africa was a continent, and whoever
is saying she didn't must be distorting "a fumble of words." He talked
to her about all manner of issues relating to Africa, from failed
states to the Sudan. She was aware from the beginning of the conflict
in Darfur, which is followed closely in evangelical churches, and was
aware of Clinton's AIDS initiative. That basically makes it impossible
that she thought all of Africa was a country.
On not knowing what countries are in NAFTA, Biegun was part of the
conversation that led to that accusation and it convinces him
"somebody is acting with a high degree of maliciousness." [More +links]

We
still don't have a name, or names, but I suspect Biegun, and others,
have a good idea who was behind it. I, for one, want to
know. Because if they're working for me at the Pissatorium, they're gone. No bonus. No severance. Gone.

OT, but today I did it!
ReplyDeleteI bought a gun!
Practice tomorrow.
~merrily
Are the Cowboys on yet?
ReplyDeleteMerrily,
ReplyDeleteYeah, really? Big congrats! That's a big step.
So, give us the details. What make/model, how was the experience, etc.
(I know you've probably been briefed on this, but just in case, read up on the laws w/r/t transport and carrying. In some states, it must be locked away in your automobile out of reach of the driver. In others, it must be in plain sight, etc.)

Congrats Merrily. You're joining an ever increasing crowd. I recently joined as well :-)
ReplyDeleteI heard Biden issued the following statement from the Office of the Vice President Elect
ReplyDelete"Sarah Palin is a stoopid poopie head. She can't grasp a simple 4 letter word: AFFRI.. er Effri..er wait.. Africka..no.. hang on A-F-R-R-I-C-A. Now everyone go and GIRD YOUR LIONS.. There are lions.. oh wait.. GIRD YOUR LOINS.. Yea Wrap your loins up in girds real good. You aren't going to like what we do after we really screw things up.. yessir.. STAND UP JOE..."
We won't be hearing that though.. All the major networks accidentally deleted their copy of that speech

They're playing right now. I can't watch!! It's not like being there at all! I get a knot in my stomach, can't breathe, etc. Funny, I don't get nervous watching them live!

Oh, and thanks everyone. I knew I had done the right thing as soon as I left the gun store.
OH, it's a Ruger P94. I would welcome any comments, hints, etc., a la Jack. Ruger recommends dry firing for practice, so I'll aim at the *ahem* TV.
ReplyDeleteMerrily,
ReplyDeleteRodger had a nice "motivational poster" a while back. C&S doesn't seem to have a search feature but it said
"Firepower: If it's not working you don't have enough"
:-)
Found it!

Annoyed~
ReplyDeleteIt's very exciting to finally have the gun. First priority is exercising my right to have one. Second is to have fun. Self-protection will come later as I get confidence.
Next on the list: digging a hole to hide it in, ha!
I thought I was the oldest person in the gun store, but I looked over, and an 80-year-old lady was shopping, too. YAY! for her!
~merrily
That poster is hilarious! Does it come with a holster? ;-)
ReplyDelete~merrily
"...and an 80-year-old lady was shopping, too..."
ReplyDeleteYeah well, look how Obama treats grannies ;-)
Check the Fredrick's of Bagdad catalog... wife says they have 'em.
ReplyDeleteTuring word: oveli? you mean 'Lovely" don't you?
...and de-briefed her.

Sorry to be late to the ball, but congratulations to all new gun owners. 'Tis the season, it seems. I took a first time shooter to the range a few weeks back. Should have let DuToit know to do the happy dance ... Vice Sgt Boone
ReplyDeleteI just bought a gun too! #51 in my collection if you count the five that are relic and curio. Many of the dealers are raising prices in anticipation of the feeding frenzy. One local shop jacked prices on all the good stuff. AR-15s that cost $750 a week ago are now $1050.
ReplyDeleteTime to stock up on ammo as well. Expect the liberals to jack prices in their efforts to drive the fire arms industry out of business.
