Colon Powell

My unfortunate first meeting with Colon Powell

True?

I either spoke with or read about (I honestly can't remember which, although I think the former) a guy who worked in the Pentagon as an enlisted man. His job was to install phones.

He said that the Generals were all very nice and actually a pleasure to work for, except for the time he had to install a phone in Powell's office. He described Powell as a rude, inconsiderate, imperious prick.

Which is why I asked if your story was true.

It happened, but not with Powell ... with someone else.

I met Powell when he was still a serving General before his White House and DC days. At that time he was a "soldier's General". Very easy to get along with and wanted to be with the troops, especially if you were wearing a combat patch from the RVN days.
