BYE-BYE TERPS?

SHOCKERS
NCAA HOOPS

At least he didn't call him a "Dirty Sanchez"
Greivis Sanchez For at least the next few hours the ACC will have three of its original seven teams left in the NCAA toonymunt. Clemson, Wake, Florida State, and Boston College were all upset in the first round.  That leaves Maryland, UNC and Duke.  I wouldn't bet my lunch money on Maryland beating Memphis today, they have way too many scholar athletes for the Terps (tallest guys 6'6) to contend with.  Here's Memphis forward Pierre Henderson-Niles
Bluto Henderson
  assessing the challenge.

We really ain't talked too much about Maryland. We watched a little film on 'em one time, and I know they got a good player -- I don't know his name -- but he good or whatever, so we just going to try to do what we do and stop him. I ain't never seen them; I know they got one good player, Sanchez or something like that; whatever his name is. [WaPost]

Actually, this is exactly the kind of game Gary Williams excels at - knocking off teams he's not supposed too, but this may be too much.  These dudes have won, what 27 games in a row?   Maybe we can outsmart them.

In other news, lets commiserate with Alear -- his Buckeyes went down to ... some team I never heard of.  Merrily, on the other hand, saw her Cowboys eke out a win at the buzzer against Tennessee in what was the best game I watched yesterday.  If Inspector Hamilton was still around, he'd be weeping over the same game.   Chris in NC 's Michigan team won, but Spoons is prolly in a bit of a funk after his Illini flunked out.  Linda Sue's Miami ... oh, that's right.

Being an alumnus of both Memphis (undergrad) and Maryland (graduate), I can honestly say that I'm rooting for both.

Hey Rodger! Cheering Maryland for ya! The ONLY ACC team I would cheer for and only for you. Well, if Miami was there, I'd cheer for them for Linda, but that's it. Hate Carolina, Hate Duke. Hope they both rot.

Ugh, looks like we're done. Still, MD and UM had good seasons. There were 300 plus teams that sat at home watching...

While doing the shocker the first two fingers are held together, whereas with the sundevil they are held apart.

Rodger the Real King of France said...
