"The Geezers are coming! The Geezers are coming!
Since they are going to be eliminated under the proposed Obamacare rules anyway, I can see C-4 packed vests becoming all the rage in response to, all the rage these folks are rightfully bearing.
Go ahead and piss 'em off. See where it gets ya, DiFi.

A liberal acquantaince told me that govt healthcare would not be mandatory and in fact I did have a choice right now; if I did not like govt run health care, then why didn't I get out of Medicare?

I reminded him that I had no choice about being forced to pay into Medicare for forty years.
If the Feds would like to refund my payments, adjusted for real inflation and with the same interest I earned on my investments, and if I could enroll in a private program as though I were the same actuarial risk as I was at age 25, I would do it today without hesitation.

I also reminded him the as a new entry to the job market, one can choose a company that pays more and insures less or the opposite, which I chose.
Unfortunately, the Cape Cod Orca having his hand in our pockets for forty years has led large corporations to drop their coverage of employees as soon as the gubbmint takes over, leaving us in an actuarial hole at retirement age. Medicare was a foolish program, but it was a contract, and now the Dems have no problem breaking contracts. The foundations of a civilized republic or democracy are built on respect for contracts and property, which means the ratbastards in DC will turn our civilized society into an oligarchy run by elitist despots or an anarchy run by chaos and guns.

Apparently, the aid de Pelosi relayed the message "Let them all eat cake". Unfortunately it was mistaken as an offer, then when it turned out there was no cake, nor sugar cookies... AARP gone wild!
