Although many poodle owners treat them like objets d'art, they were originally bred as retrievers.
Athough still useful in that role, I think most hunters wouldn't want to be seen hunting with a poodle. -

My poodle don't take s**t from anyone, and he will be 20 in November. His breath alone can be fatal. He gets a buzz cut too, none of those frilly hairdos for him.
