A Thuggish White House
"For even more Fox lies"
Everything this Administration does has the touch and feel of a street gang.  The White House Blog, for example,  looks more like the Daily Kos than dialog from the Executive Branch of the United States government.  It is in fact an extension of the Fact Check  spin machine Obama used during the campaign.  It's also very discomfiting that the Obama Administration takes on individual critics like Glenn Beck,  and FNC, the lone dissenting television voice, with the full weight of the United States government.

Reality Check: Trying to Turn a Point of Pride into a Moment of Shame

Reality Check
Last night Fox News continued its disregard for the facts in an attempt to smear the Administration's efforts to win the Olympics for the United States. In the past, hosting the Olympics has been a source of pride and unity for the country, but once again Fox News' Glenn Beck program has shown that nothing is worthy of respect if it can be used as part of a partisan attack to boost ratings.

RHETORIC:          BECK SAID VANCOUVER LOST $1 BILLION WHEN IT "HAD THE OLYMPICS."   Glenn Beck said, "Vancouver lost, how much was it? they lost a billion dollars when they had the Olympics."  [Transcript, Glenn Beck Show, 9/29/09]

REALITY:              VANCOUVER'S OLYMPICS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE UNTIL 2010.   Vancouver will host the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games from February 12 – 28, 2010 and March 12-21, 2010, respectively. [Vancouver2010.com, accessed 9/29/09]

For even more Fox lies, check out the latest "Truth-O-Meter" feature from Politifact that debunks a false claim about a White House staffer that continues to be repeated by Glenn Beck and others on the network.
Beck may have meant to say Montreal's Olympics, but there he'd have been untruthful since " Montreal’s 1976 Olympics left the city with $2.7 billion of debt that it finally paid off in 2005." - New York Times .  Even if he was referring to the Vancouver Olympics,  a $1 billion projected loss is probably being  conservative.  Obama's a punk, and a street thug.  It shows in everything he does.

"Obama's a punk, and a street thug."

Show me a Marxist that isn't. Do the names Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Joseph Stalin ring a bell?

Beck said he actually meant to refer to Calgary.

The prime contractor building the athletes village for the 2010 Winter Olympics went bankrupt. That leaves Vancouver B.C. holding the debt and an unfinished project. But not to worry, they have plenty of taxpayers... maybe they can billet the athletes in the taxpayers homes.
