Palin's Cred

Book Tour Notes

I think she does fit neatly with the Tea Party movement and she gets the same kind of anger from Democrats as that movement. They hate her as much as they hate the Tea Party and the Town Hall protesters, because she and they stand between them and their objectives. Do not doubt that Democrats hate her as much as they hated George Bush. To be a really successful candidate she has to find a way to feed off that hate and at the same time inspire a movement that is looking for leadership.

Those who claim she needs to "grow" are ignoring some pretty solid positions on energy and the environment as well as national security. On the hot button issues that have motivated the Tea Party movement she is well ahead of the rest of the Republican party. - (Complete)  via Cheryl Jones
It's sadly true that today's bellwether of patriotism and hope for America's future is the degree of arc thrown on the  DNC's Hate Meter. By that measure, we have found Reagan II.

By "grow" what is usually meant is "sell out your beliefs". This will get you the "Strange New Respect" award from the MSM, as in "Sen. Snort is being viewed inside the beltway with a strange new respect today, after selling out his constituents, and voting in favor of the latest statist claptrap being proposed by the Democratic leadership."

Usually worded in a more diplomatic manner, of course.

The left doesn't so much hate Sarah, as they are terrified of her. In the last election she was the only one of the four placeholders on the tickets with any executive experience whatsoever.

I completely dislike the way she's been treated by the media, but I'm not much of a fan of a Sarah Palin presidency, anymore.

anymore? LOL, you weren't ever, which is okay. But, when the time comes and your choice is Obama or Sarry --- ?

Josh Fahrni-Barn Army Dog Catcher said...

I didn't mind her being a VP, but now I don't think that would fly, either.

My point, is that I don't really believe it'll come down to Obama and Sarry, boss. I know you guys love her, but you know as well as I (moreso, I reckon) that her negatives are really high. I know that it's a media driven negative, but a negative is a negative. Is over half of the people in the country genuinely don't think she's right, the reason for it doesn't really matter.

I like her, a lot. I think she'd be a hell of a lot better than Obama, but I still think she's a political lightweight (not a bad thing, necessarily, except that she underestimates how easy it is to get things misconstrued) and she'd be better to look at too.

Just don't think she'll ever get that far. GOP has a chokehold for the most part, on who get's into the fray...Which is why John McRINO got the nod; they thought it was their best chance to win.

Thanks for the hot pic of Sarah.

She already towers over the Republican pack of Lilliputians (including the increasing whiny Huckabee).

I think that she will be the nominee and have Lou Dobbs as her running mate.

The Democratic nominee will be Hillary, who will have won the nomination following her 2010 resignation over a trumped up fight with Obama over Afpac, N. Korea or Iran (whichever is most politically vulnerable for Barry at the time she makes her move).

Sarah has conviction and verve, while the rest of the Republicans seem like a bunch of drones who ae focused primarily on polish and trying to make sure everyone likes them.

She is a born leader and they are hacks.

Bah!

Nothing like the shitstorm Reagan had to put up with...

Remember, he had got a lot of them pro-soviet subversives lose their cushy government jobs...

But the crap barrage can be effective, Goldwater did lose and millions died in the Viet Nam as a result,
with the dollar losing half it's value to feed the welfare queens.

But if anybody can survive it, Sarah
is it, what after surviving the cesspool that was Alaska...

And remember too that the paleo-cons are her worst enemies,
paleo-con being a new way to spell neo-nazi...the extreme left having
always been in bed with the extreme right...

Mrs. Palin may be a political lightweight and she may drive others crazy, but my view is that she will do the right thing for the nation as president , IMO the sole standard for electing a president nowadays.

Josh Fahrni-Barn Army Dog Catcher said...

I'm not disparaging Sarah :-( I'm saying on one hand, folks like Newt and the Good ol' boys who think numbers and their standard for 'electibility' are everything, I think the deck is stacked against Sarah for getting the nomination. I think they'll see one of those 'drones' as the safer bet (like they thought McCain was).

I agree that the other field are hacks, and I think Sarah would do far better than Obama, any day. I just don't think that the forces that be, would let things get that far.

Know what I mean?

"Lightweight" is the defining of Hussein the Mombasa Mau-Mau.

Sarah Palin cleaned the Augias Stables that was Alaska, which
was an Herculean task.

She's the heaviest weight Governor
ever and would make the best president and the only one able
to clean the hideous mess Melon Head is going to leave behind after he get impeached and
probably jailed...

If the current "leaders" in Washington are the example for intelligent enlightenment, I'll take "dumb" Sarah any day. Newsweek's cover says she is bad for the GOP. Yeah, we need to take advice from them on what's good for us and the country.

Josh, Wabano is right. You know the history of Reagan's accomplishments. People forget the mountain of BS he had to climb to get there. Yes, he too was an unelectable reactionary taking us to nuclear war. The party insiders are happy with status quo. They have their piece of the pie. Real change-agents scare the shit out of them.

She IS bad for the Republican Party. The current Republican Party might actually be forced into conservatism.

It might never be the same again ... they almost didn't recover from Reagan.

I'm sure the corruptocrats in the RNC are scared shitless of her.

What's with the rumor that she's getting a divorce, or is that just more shit being flung by the Deomcrats?

Josh Fahrni-Barn Army Dog Catcher said...

“That day in sunny Texas when the divorce rumors were rampant in the tabloids, I watched Todd, tanned and shirtless, take the baby from my arms and walk him back to the ranch house so Trig could nap while I made calls,” she wrote, in excerpts from the book (due out on Tuesday, November 17) obtained by NBC News. “Seeing Todd’s blue eyes smiling, I chuckled. ‘Dang,’ I thought. ‘Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd?’”

The divorce rumor monger is a former kindergarten teacher's aid that promulgates kiddie porn on his website. He has been thoroughly discredited and is under investigation last I knew.

Josh, as much as I like Sarah Palin, I think you are correct about her being unelectable, no matter whose fault it is. Another reason I think she won't fare well in an election, is because she is a woman! For all our talk of equality, there are conservative men (and probably women, too) who would not vote for her simply because of that.

Yes, the left hates her BECAUSE she's electable. I'd vote for her in an eyeblink. In fact, I did vote for her. SHE would get the base moving! Now, next year we get Congress full of energy independence fiscal conservatives, and in 2012 we get Sarah at 1600. Watch America recover THEN!

I don't even have to think about it: she has my vote. I cannot even think of an alternative. I am sure the RNC will give us a Voinavich for presidential candidate again and the GOP will lose again. But if they puyt up Sarah we would win. THe left is scared out of their minds over Palin. WHo is constantly maligning her? The left! Clearly they fear her.
