I just had a routine appointment with my doctor. He was telling me about a problem with the construction of the new hospital wing. After construction had begun, they found that some neighboring buildings had been constructed unevenly, and extended into the projected new building just a little.

So they brought in a device like a giant electric razor, wielded by a crane just like in your picture, and shaved the neighboring buildings just enough to clear the new hospital wing! He was amazed at the precision of the work.

Turing word: "aphannym". A nickname for an aphid?
