Senate Republicans have agreed to end their filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) health care reform bill a few hours early on Christmas Eve, a move that will allow the GOP to technically stick to its promise to force Dec. 24 vote on the measure while still making it possible for Senators to return home for the holiday.

Ah, social promotion. I wonder if the lads out on patrol will throw in the towel and head in early?

Reminds me of Flip Wilson's routine about a mugger and his victim.
Mugger with a baseball bat approaches his victim and demands all his money. Victim pleads desparately, talking about his hardships, it's Christmas, his kids should have presents, the money is all the money he has in the world; the mugger and victim argue back and forth for a while and the mugger finally relents and says "OK, I'm not gonna take your money." Relieved, the victim blubbers profuse thanks and is interupted by the mugger who says "Don't get too excited 'cause I said you can keep your money, 'cause I'm still gonna hit you with the bat."

Thank you Juice. IMHO, Flip Wilson was a keen observer of human foibles and a funny man who left the scene too early.

I say again, if these Republican had their poop in a group we never would have gotten to this point anyway. They are the reason we have the current President and Congress we have and I think we need to hold them all personally responsible. And on this matter too. Bunch of weak knee'd sisters!

When many of us vote for Independents in the next election and these dip wads caused it, they will once again have caused the harm for this once great nation.

Those rat bastard GOP shits couldn't find a pair of balls if you handed them to them.

Where were the delaying tactics?
Where were the "surprises we can't talk about"?
Where was the leadership?
Where was the coherent message against this bill?

The GOP didn't do shit.

Cave in on closing a couple of hours early to make sure everyone get home in time for Christmas? Are you shitting me?? The country is being sold into slavery with a bill that can't be overturned and the GOP is concerned that the communists oh I mean the Democrats might not make it home for Christmas? Communists don't fucking believe in Christmas!!

All of these paralytic bed wetters need to be tossed out on their asses and sooner than later..

According to AOSHQ, McConnel has a deal/motion that the motion to raise the debt ceiling will not be cast on Jan 20th.

This is what reid had to give up to get an earlier vote on the health care bill. remember now, it doesn't matter when it happens, it is going to happen unless something, odd, happens.

But now we get to see the dems pushing through a debt ceiling raising, while OweBama preaches all about his fiscal responsibility in the SOTU.

Oh, puhleeeez, Mitch is a patriot, but he's got to keep his weak sisters on board. Just one of those quandries of leadership. Did you think Voinovich was going to hang tough?

Right! A patriot who just sided with the greatest threat to individual freedom this country has ever faced so that he could be home for Christmas Eve with his family.

OK, maybe he's not a traitor, would you prefer spineless, coward, bastard, sell-out...

Nope, I take that all back, the only word that fits is traitor!
