Thought Bubble

If I was a political party,
I'd sue any state that allowed people
not a registered member to vote
in primaries that select
party candidates.

Right on Rodger! That's how we got McCain, and therefore Uhbama.
Add to that, a law that no political contributions from outside the candidates' district, precinct, state, etc. are allowed.
One Rep candidate for the Virginia legislature had $8,800 in contributions, his Dem opponent had $126,000, almost all from out of state organizations. The Dem won.

Doesn't require a lawsuit.

Just drop "major" party status. Being a "major" party means the legislature gets to interfere in your primary in return for not collecting signatures every year.

Have a local convention of contributing party members select nominees, and gather sigs for ballot status, just like Libertarians or Greens do.

Viola! No more Donks selecting Republican candidates.
