The maneuver gives Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House free rein to quickly work through hundreds of differences between the 2,000-page bills and to keep control over the deals they will need to make on politically touchy topics such as abortion, taxes and Medicare cuts.

You'll notice that Beck didn't say the birthers' claims aren't true or justified, just that, when you win, so what?

He's not saying you're wrong, just to pick a different fight.

I know what he's saying, but I look at this the way Mayor Giuliani did when he mounted a successful war against NYC street crime. You begin with a no tolerance policy for scofflaws and bums. This is not a political matter, it's a constitutional issue.

As I stated yesterday, the real crime, at this point, is how little critical thought went into the matter.
