Between that one and the CNN poll, I am somewhat more optimistic about the political sentiment within in this country, but it don't mean we're out of the woods yet by any means.

Something that I ask my wife (a committed Democrat) regularly: Which Presidency resulted in the creation of the greater number of Conservatives .. Jimmy Carter's or Ronald Reagan's?

Obama is an object lesson in the irrationality of liberalism and voters are leaving the 'Independent' column for the 'Republican' column in droves (and many Democratic voters are similarly moving from being liberals to Blue Dogs).

Well, Mark, for eight years we complained about how Bush didn't even seem to be interested in getting spending under control. Then the Democrats came along, affronted by such talk, and scoffed, "Ha! You call that spending? We'll show you what real spending is!"

I have been an off and on listener to NPR for decades, going back to the time when I thought that I was a liberal. I have to say that for a collection of hardcore liberals they do make an honest effort to present both sides of their stories. That doesn't make them unbiased, but they really do try. I respect that and give credit where credit is due. You can see it in this story if you follow the link and read the whole thing.

Their counterparts at their local affiliates are another story altogether. Those lunatics are as far left as they come.
