Wal-Mart v, Gummint

Boned Jello
Today's
... e-Mailed spam that everyone already received, and which facts might be somewhat skewed, but still good enough for gummint work, and will reinforce a truth that you already were aware of, but obviously not pissed-off enough about to have done something about.  Me included.

Wal-mart Versus the Morons
 1.  Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.
2.  This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!
3.  Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than

          Target sells all year.
4.  Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco +
           K-Mart combined.
5.  Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private Employer, and
            most speak English.
6.  Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World.
7.  Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in
mind they did this in only 15 years.
8.  During this same period, 31 supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.
9.  Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.
10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super
Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 Years ago.
11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will
occur At a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)
12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.
You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for
suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to Fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans: Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To  all 535 voting members of the Legislature,It is now official you are ALL morons
The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775.
You have had 234 years to get it right and it is   BROKE
Social Security was established in 1935.  You have had 74 years to get it right and it is
BROKE
Fannie Mae was established in 1938.  You have had 71 years to get it right and it is  BROKE
War on Poverty started in 1964.  You have had 45 years to get it right;  1$ trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor". They want MORE.
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965.
You have had 44 years to get it right and they are BROKE.
Freddie Mac was established in 1970.  You have had 39 years to get it right and it is BROKE.
The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before.  You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal FAILURE.

I saw a television show that explained how Walmart was instrumental in getting Hurricane relief supplies to afflicted areas. From personal experience, the military and food were only behind the local citizens(except New Orleans) in fixing the mess.

Other fine folks that help in this area are H.E.B., Krogers, Walgreens and CVS. Not a government agency in the bunch, which explains the effectiveness.

Why is Wally World so successful?

Unions.

Walmart has none.

When I'm feeling down I go to WalMart to make myself feel better.
That and saving some money on stuff I might not normally be able to afford. Except for food. I won't buy food at WalMart.

Walmart is China.

China have no unions.

The Mafia run casinos are pretty efficient too. They run the Unions.

But not as efficients as if run
by the Red Army. They dont just whack the incompetents, they'll
sell you their hearts, lungs, livers
and kidneys...

The devil always ask for his pound of flesh if you buy from him.

Eventually.

90% of Walmart's goods are from China.

It is Walmart that exported American manufacturing to Chinese slave labor.

Totally great for fat government pensioners. But who will pay that pension eventually? The Chinese government?

The minute China start producing for it's internal market, the Obama/Bush/Clinton bubble will burst
and America will go the way of Argentina. Thanks to Walmart!

Did you know that 25 years ago, Buenos Aeres had THIRTY car
manufacturers around town?

Now they buy Daewoos, if and when they can. Most drive Falcons and Galaxys THEY built 30 years ago.

So, because walmart decided that chinese-made good were cheaper, and of comparable quality to US-made goods, that they would be able outstrip competition on a national scale, even when absorbing the cost of trans-oceanic shipping and nationwide transportation?

Sounds like you are making my argument for me.

Walmart has very few salaried employees in the stores. Almost their entire workforce is hourly labor. They pay wages commensurate with education level and job description. Generally any job which requires one to wear a smock with a smiley face button isn't paying for a Harvard education.

If they had to pay for a unionized workforce, their profits (and stock) would plummet, and their expansion would slow to the point of implosion (see GM, et al.)

Granted, China isn't on the top of the hit parade for human rights, but at the same time, if I can get 800 thread count cotton sheets softened by the tears of falun-gong monks for only $3 then so be it.

It was not so much WalMart sending the jobs to China as it was our very own governments. The feds tell you who to hire by race and sex, not qualifications. They shut down your entire plant and haul the plant manager off in handcuffs if OSHA finds a wooden ladder that has been painted.

Local and state government in and out the door with a bushel full of alphabet agencies looking for reasons to write a fine.

Unions with their "nice little plant you have here; be a shame if it went out on strike..." attitude.

Seems like a lotta words are speaking WalMart is China...
Last time I was on a road trip around this country, every place I stopped had "Made In China" on their goods.
In fact, I go to the AAFES exchange, and I am surprised that I cannot get any leather goods, that do not say "Made in China"
We embrace "buy low, sell hi". I ain't sayin I'm happy with the situation, but we have met the enemy, and he is us.
