Crunchy Dogs

Today's Best Buy
Boned Jello
These are the best hot dogs on the market today, IMO. KAYEM Old Tyme Natural Casing  I buy 'em at BJ's.  About $6.00 for a box of about 18.  If you've never haz natural casing dogs, you're missing something. / END DISPATCH

Ehhh, having grown up on the farm, I find that natural is often unpleasant.

Mary,

You're not doing it right.

Sabrett natural casings are sufficient, Boars Heads natural casings are way better, Nathan's natural casing dogs are great also, but are nearly impossible to find in the local grocers. We had a local meat packer who made excellent natural casing dogs, but has since gone out of business :( damned shame! Only problem with them was that you had to cook 'em within a few days after purchase due to the fact that they didn't use nitrates or preservatives.

That's nice Rodg but some friends of mine just brought me some unbelievable blood sausage from a Polish deli in New Britain, CT. Oh my, oh MY it's good.

But I'm behind you on the kind of dogs that -snap- when you bite into 'em.

Yes. Everyone knows that with "tyme" it's spelled "olde".

Plenty of hot dog makers in CT.
we got Martin Rosol's, Grote & Wegiel, Muckes and Hummel's.
They all have natural casings and all very good.

When I was a kid we had our own version of 'Pavlov's Dog' who would start to drool upon hearing the word KAM.
It was a brand of canned dog food the name of which sounded a lot like KAYEM.
Old Spot would'a liked these hotdogs and I'm sure I would too.
Natural casing hotdogs are hard to find.

Boar's head uses natural casing also. Provides that nice intestinal snap.
