...and two weeks later it gets stolen, after having been there unmolested since 1934.

Coincidence? Not a chance.

I think it's high time we relocated the seat of federal government to a new location. My first suggestion would be the Four Corners region or the area where Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota come together. Somplace very desolate where none of them wants to go. It's been in the North East too long and now I think it's time for it to be relocated to a new place where they can start learning how to be part of the nation again. Turn the DC area back over to MD and VA respectively and all of the monuments and stuff will remain national landmarks. Build a couple of metal buildings out on the prairie for SCOTUS and Congress to convene in and put the congress critters up in dorms and the president in a 3 bed 2 bath ranch house. He can entertain foreign dignitaries at the local Luby's or Golden Corral.

D.C. was chosen BECAUSE it sucked. It was a swamp. Get the work done and go home. The vermin there will (unfortunately) servive anywhere.

What do you have against the four corners regions or SD, Wyoming and Nebraska that you would want to do that to them?
