Like Americans v. NARAL

Dog Fight,or in this case, Bird

Boned Jello

I just now got some coffee, and looked out the window to catch some hummingbird activity.  Instead, I was treated to an amazing dog fight between a lady Cardinal, and a Blue Jay.  The Cardinal was on the Jay's six, and it looked for all the world like one of those delightful Hitler channel aerial combat recreations. Blue Jays of course are predators who like eating others fetuses, aka eggs.  I'm guessing that's what this was about.  The larger Jay was maneuvering for its life against that angry mama.

I looked up the numbers on that F-86. Several museum display Sabres have that paint job. Musta been someone special.

WIKIPEDIA:
Joseph Christopher McConnell, Jr. (30 January 1922 - 25 August 1954) was the top American ace during the Korean War. A native of Dover, New Hampshire, Captain McConnell shot down 16 MiG-15s while flying F-86 Sabres with the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Silver Star for combat heroism. McConnell was the first American triple jet-on-jet fighter ace and is still the top-scoring American jet ace.(Beauteous Butch II)
