Airbrushing History

A culture that airbrushes
its history is already dead.

Boned Jello

In the well-known original image, Churchill makes a "V" shaped symbol with his fingers – while gripping a cigar in the corner of his mouth.

But in a reproduction of the picture, hanging over the main entrance to a London museum celebrating the wartime leader, he has been made into a non-smoker through the use of image-altering techniques. [story]

Another "Ahem". BTW, Roosevelt asked that his only memorial be a simple stone in a grassy square near the National Archives. According to his wishes, a block of granite about the size of a large desk was placed near the north entrance of the National Archives.
The Dems would have none of this, however, and under Clinton blew about $60 million (2009 dollars)in Federal funds and ate up 800 feet and seven acres of beautiful Potomac waterfront in a sprawling paean to their patron saint. In addition, the memorial required about $10 million for upkeep which hasn't been raised yet.
Of course, this pales when compared to the $600 million spent on the Harry Reid Memorial Mausoleum to Smelly Capitol Tourists, but I digress.

Yeah, cowabunga, duude!

It's just that C&S doesn't handle graphics in comments (one of my favorite toys), so I took the lazy-guy's way out (my favorite method).

That's right, rbrandt, Rodger is known to be rather caustic when dealing with liberals.
