The Hell of it is, take "Jo" X hundreds of thousands (probably millions) and then you see what you're up against.
At the risk of being an "age-ist", I say that huge portions of the population in this country have progressively gotten more and more ignorant with each passing generation.
At this rate of mental decay, in a couple more decades we will have vast swaths of brain dead carcases,unable to whistle and tie their shoes at the same time....
Maybe just to tie their shoes. -

Agreed JMcD and I lay it 100%, entirely on government run education provided by the NEA and AFT.
Our children have been dumbed down to a level that I know they're not even aware of American Exceptionalism-rain forest math and condoms on bananas with history by Zinn have gotten us to the point where someone like Obama is not only not hooted off the stage for his idiocy but he's elected president.
All of this "I can see Nov from my porch" is pointless unless we can remove the hands of the teacher's unions strangling the very Americanism out of our youth.
It's a numbers game and they know it. The tipping point? If we haven't passed it, it's coming up real fast.
In a word-vouchers. I live across the street from my small town's high school and occasionally get into it with the teachers. Even saying the word, vouchers, is like pulling a rosary out at a vampire get together.
Try it sometime, they know what a voucher program would mean.
