I'm sure they forgot to say anything about the $7500 battery disposal fee when they crap out. It's in the fine print, next to the warranty disclaimer for unapproved household wiring and power surges.

Can you say unwanted sex? Good, I knew you could.

Isn't that a little bit backwards? Why can't I get 350 miles on battery and 40 miles on gas?

You can get 350miles on a battery.
It just has to be carried on a 40ft long, 8ft high trailer and cost $100,000. Oh, and it'll only work for a half-dozen years before it needs replacing.

(no one ever talks about the limited life-span for rechargeable batteries - I fly electric r/c planes and know the reality...)

Did anybody say anything about Nissan's Leaf??? It is $30K and gets 100 miles on a charge or more. Of course it is battery only but, it is only intended as a commuter car - not long distance. This is why government motors will fail - they are hopelessly out of touch. I used to work for a big three supplier - GM was always good on engineering but, their inertia was very cumbersome. Chrysler was a bunch of nimrods who thought they were smart - but weren't. Ford on the other hand seemed to have their shit together - not perfect - nobody is but, Ford seemed to be on top of stuff and their engineers and other staff were demanding but fair. If I had my druthers I would rather work with Ford in a heartbeat.

On point comment Simon. And - only one of the two is NOT run by a fascist (in the actual sense) government. Another plus.
