ESPN Douchebag

62-3

confiscated from football (euro) fans

I want to congratulate Teresa for engineering, through concerted thought, JMU's stunning upset of Virginia Tech yesterday.  I want to thank Jodi for any role she may have had in Alabama vanquishing Penn State (grrrrr).  I was rooting for the ACC team playing in Columbus yesterday, but your Buckeyes are real Alear.  And,  the last time the Terps scored 62 points in a game was in 1975 against Virginia (I was there).  Yesterday's game against Morgan State allowed Maryland to equal all of last year's wins at 2.  With the score 55-3, it also elicited from the ESPN  game announcer, name unknown, this priceless observation after Morgen forced a Terp punt.

You have to hand it to the Bears;  this game could have turned into a rout. Maryland could easily have 70 points.

Miami is a real team, but 5 field goals? The Bucks best learn that the red zone isn't for loading and unloading only.

OSU!!! OUS!!! OSU!!!

ESPN has some of the worst announcers and analyzers. After Michigan beat Notre Dame, Lou Holtz said that the Irish defense should be encouraged that they shut down the Michigan offense minus Denard Robinson. That's like saying ND would have won if UM hadn't scored 28. Or ND would have won the national title if not for those 5 losses...

Is this just an old fantasy, or wasn't there a game broadcast once with no jabber at all? Just stadium noise? They could all be like that; narrative supplied by hometown radio guys if desired. (which is what I often do with the Redskin games)

I love the idea of a jabber-free broadcast. I'm watching the broadcast of the JMU - VT game and even knowing the outcome (we beat their ass in case you didn't hear) it is discouraging to listen to the crap from these ESPN jerks. BAH

Couldn't have asked for a prettier day with a lot of football traditions. I wish you could have been there. Before the game Bobby was out joking and signing autographs. Then JoePa was applauded as he entered the field. To top it off we have another "w". Love College Football!!
