Grace Potter

Keepin' Young Here Boss

Boned Jello

They say that kids will keep you young, and Hucker is doing his part.  He just got back from some concert  road trip (don't ask?), all enthusiastic about Grace Potter (and the Nocturnals).  "Dad, she has the most beautiful ..."  uh, the greatest, er ... stage presence I've ever seen.  Yeah that' it.  Stage presence.  Evidently she plays about 60 different instruments, and wears a nightgown on stage.   I'd never heard of her, so he Googled this picture up.  The kid id right.  She's really, really talented.  Oh my.

The boy's got fine taste.

If a new generation sees this music as happenin', we might all be saved, yet.

A sequined nightgown.

Just checked out a couple of her songs on YouTube. Unimpressed.

Some people are so charmed by a little flash of cleavage...

Cleav .. oh right. Hadn't noticed. If you click on the picture there's a song I kinda like.

Probably the right post to give a shout out to our friend Gerard, who helps launch RightNetwork today. I'm still checking it out, but it does look like a winner. I started with the newest from VDH on multiculturalism.

The trailer for Running looks interesting. Watch those running against Waxman and Hanky. Pull quote: "Yeah, gin and valium, that's about right."

Alear, "Running" caught my eye too, but of the 5-6 previews I watched, all look like winners. If you have Verizon FIOS cable you can watch in Cinerama according to the news release, but as of this moment FIOS doesn't seem to know that. My gut reaction is this deal is a winner. I've offered my own services as host of "Remove Eric Holder and Throw Him Down a Volcano," but someone over there must have lost my letter.

On the subject of music, does any one of you remember this record from 1958.
I had this record that year and liked it all, but I thought this selection was the funniest thing I had heard up til then.

When I was teaching myself how to play the guitar while in the Army, I bought a book the showed lyrics and chords for every Kingston Trio song, including Coplas. Learned to play 'em all, but there's no learning how to sing on key. Sigh. I coulda been a contender.
