That's why we are a Constitutional Republic. Democrats want to convince us that we are a Democracy.

To paraphrase Grandpap:

Well...if you'da been through what she's been through...you'd have a big nose too."

Whatever that means.

Right you are, Miles. But this is more of a Constitutional 'checks and balances' matter. All the same, it stinks being a populist in America.

Speaking of such, poor Ace is having a lonely day in the bunker. You are kind to offer him a charity post, Rodge, even if it makes no sense.

Here's an idea: When you go out, look for people in uniform. Instead of checking out the cut of their trousers, look them in eyes. Give them a good strong handshake, and thank them for their service.

Later if you are losing sleep from fear of catching cooties, take a pill.

Helly,

it's not about failing to appreciate homosexuals in uniform.

It's about introducing sexual politics into military recruitment, training, and promotion.

We keep the sexes separate to reduce the possibility of soldiers being discriminated against or exploited for sexual reasons.

If your recruiter, your c.o., your drill instructor, etc., are sexually attracted to you - or your fellow squad members -

it messes up unit cohesion, reasonable promotion, even acceptance into the military.

Sexual politics can't be avoided in these situations, and straight service members will pay the price in many ways.

So look the straight members in the eye, thank them, and promise to protect them for sexually loaded political living and working conditions.

The Constitution (Art I, Sec 8) gives Congress the authority to make laws governing the armed forces, not the Judiciary.

I suspect there's a whole sh*tpotfull'a military law that a petty-tyrant judge could find to be "unconstitutional," if they was of a mind to, given a sufficiently flexible definition of ... well, anything.

Current defacto policy in the military is "Don't Care, Drive On".

This may end up being as dead a letter as segregated Black units.

That being said, this judge does need to be impeached for legislating from the bench.

Army Discipline is entirely within the President's and Congress's baliwick.
