How many Democrats in these pictures?

The First 10 City Pensions
That Will Run Out Of Money

The municipal pension crisis is like the social security crisis but worse: Unlike the federal government, cities cannot legally go into debt.

The winner for "unfunded liability per household" was Boston: $41,966.

I was honestly surprised not to see DC on that list.

But then, DC is more recession-proof than other areas. Come whatever, the federal government pays its employees, its rent, and its contractors. The beltway bandits, the government lawyers, the congressional staffers, they all get paid.

They may have to take out ginourmous loans with the Red Chinese, but the bills get paid and the budgets don't get cut.

Someday, the Ponzi scheme comes toppling down, it always does, but for now, they're still getting away with it.

I have been a SteamFitter in the Baltimore , D. C area for nearly 25 years , and as the temps begin to dip , I can promise you this . Every year when the temp drops into the 20's We will be out fixing frozen , and burst equipment that the highly trained government employees forgot to drain the water out of ! Through affirmative action they all have titles , trucks , offices , paid holidays , and pensions but they are still too Frigging stupid , or LAZY to figure out that water freezes at 32 degrees ! Your tax dollars at work . SMIBSID

Hooray for the City that Breeds... Oops! I meant the City that Reads.

We've got "park benches" on our sidewalks that every few years they put a new slogan on. The old slogan was the City that Reads. Only the urban residents were too busy making babies, taking drugs, and doing crime to learn how to read. In some ways I'm glad to see that Bal'mer didn't make it to #1, but it still is ridiculous.

I think it's going to get real ugly when enough people move to the country and set up perimeters.
