Interestingly, that's what I have read about heroin when it was first prepared. Thought it was a cure for morphine addiction.

Heroin was formulated by Bayer AG and was the alleged cure for many ills. Unfortunately it was the CAUSE of many ills. It got the name because it made the users feel "heroic". You figger.....
