Unassuming Nancy Liked the Background

Who was that turkey again?
I forgot her name

As she prepares to relinquish power, Nancy Pelosi believes not enough attention has been paid to her role as the first woman to hold the post of Speaker of the House.  "I was the first woman speaker," Pelosi tells the New York Times.  "It didn't get that much play. And I'm not a publicity seeker, so it was OK with me."
Who is that turkey named Pelosi?

As I remember it, MSM made a BFD over that fact in 2007. She even brought in her grandchildren to help swing her new gravel.

I know that Republicans spent too much under Bush but also that Congress controls spending. The first Pelosi-Reid deficit for FY 2008 was larger than any of the other Bush era deficits and almost 3 times that of FY2007, the last deficit while Republican ran Congress. That is her true legacy

Well I think we're all being a bit harsh on the Speaker. After all, she worked so hard to get that title. Oh, wait.....

Can you please pay attention, I don't mind when people don't pay attention.

As Saint Anne pointed out, she was* also our first retarded Speaker. Nobody makes a big deal out of that either.

* I just can't describe how much pleasure it gives me to refer to her using past tense even if it's only as former speaker. Just imagine what it will be like when she leaves public office altogether.
