Hail DeMint!

DeMint comes out against tax deal,
says GOP must do ‘better than this’

On both counts. I’m glad the President recognizes that tax increases hurt the economy. I mean, I guess that’s progress. But frankly, Hugh, most of us who ran this election said we were not going to vote for anything that increased the deficit.

This does.

It raises taxes, it raises the death tax. I don’t think we needed to negotiate that aspect of this thing away. I don’t think we need to extend unemployment any further without paying for it, and without making some modifications such as turning it into a loan at some point.   Hugh ... we don’t need a temporary economy, which means we don’t need a temporary tax rate. A permanent extension of our current tax rates would allow businesses to plan five and ten years in advance, and that’s how you build an economy.

Jim DeMint the Impaler
DeMint is right.  The path Republicans take here will define them in as being serious as hell, or face savers who settle for Pyhrric victories.  If they choose the latter, they can never rise above that mark.

I really, really, hate the death tax (estate tax) since I found out how much Warren Bugprick profits from it. It seems that the life insurance lobby uses the death tax as a selling point and they lobby real hard to keep it (rented appartments with hot and cold running hookers) also Buggfuck makes a lot of nickles by buying up other wise profitable family owned businesses who have to sell out because of the death tax.

Whoopsie, I forgot to mention that Warren has a significant number of life insurance companies in his portfolio.

DeMint and Sanders filibustering together!

And Olberman indirectly comparing Obama to Chamberlain at Munich!

This reminds me of that Belle Starr quote from The Long Riders

"It ain't [worth it ]. You're both crazy, but you do keep me amused. I am having a real good time."

Same career politician who a few years back liked temporary tax cuts a lot (what tax rate is Not temporary anyway?), and would fire teachers who had (oooh) sex with boyfriends/girlfriends.

Bet he smells of hair tonic.

Bring Alvin Greene "on the scene."
