Partial Monty

Parade ... Yoo-Hooo!

This is so apropos.  BTW, I feel obliged here to make the "some of my best friends are colored," speech. Meaning, I have, like many of you, gay friends and family members, and none resemble these mincing Nancys.  For me, gays in the military is a mistake  for reasons that transcend what's erroneously called "homophobia."  Reasons I've stated before.  I find it galling that a political party, that has for 50 years shown the greatest antipathy for our military, would - almost as an act of revenge, drop the don't ask, don't tell accommodation.  That doesn't mean this Monty Python sketch isn't funny though, so have a laugh.

The most slipperiest of slopes.

What's next?

My money's on incest, followed soon thereafter by bestiality.

Hmmm, I don't have any queer friends or relatives Rodge. I have stumbled across a few socially, and in the working world. I even had a queer doctor and a dentist, both of whom I ultimately found professionally incompetent.

In the military they were almost uniformly pariahs for other reasons before their behavior surfaced and became an issue. Pre-DADT nobody was hunting for homos to discharge. Like any bureaucracy, issues were usually dealt with only when there was no way to ignore them. As is obvious to even the most casual observer, we already have plenty on our plate.

I say polygamy is next. God forbid.

Sometimes it really is all about protecting the children.

All these attacks on hetero nuclear families, it's the kids who suffer the most.

I worked with a little pink triangulator at a newspaper years ago. Saw an active homophobic conspiracy under every bush. When he found out I'd had a conversation on the radio with Rush Limbaugh once, his voice nearly pierced my eardrum, screaming about homophobia blah blah blah hate speech, yada yada yada, to which I responded: Did you even listen to the show, today?
No, says queenie.
Well, how do you even know what we talked about, if you didn't listen? Have you ever listened to the show?
No, says queenie.
Huh, says I.
So, uh, what did you talk about, then?
Pearl Harbor.
Ah, well, uh....never mind.

Jewel - I can't count the number of 'zactlys I've had myself, some even with gays.

Another potential sticky point: just as there are some cultures that have a problem with women soldiers (read: the Middle East), there are some cultures that have a big problem with homosexuals. How are they gonna respond when they find out we have stationed some homosexuals in their country?

This is the MOST Monty Pithon-i-est example of how "Don't say, don't play gay" could happen. It's as funny as Hell... and it's also pathetic beyond belief!

God help us all!

Let's not forget that DADT was Comrade Clinton's idea. So one Dumbocrat rescinded another Dumbocrat's initiative. Also it was never military policy but rather a Congressional policy forced on the military.
