Horses are stupid, treacherous beasts. Likely, Mr. Ed there, is plotting to immediately throw that young lady into a barbed wire fence.

"Horses are stupid, treacherous beasts."
Only to those who are stupider than the horse.

@dennisranch -- you mistake a horse's long memory for intelligence. I've had horse's spook at the same tree they've seen every day for years.

I had a horse (18 hands tall) who, when he stepped one front hoof on another, tried to pull the lower hoof out from underneath the upper. I finally leaned on his shoulder to push him off balance.

In a Handy Hunter competition, my horse who'd run perfect practice rounds on identical jumps, absolutely refused to go over a fence that he had never hesitated in practice.

Another would wait until you were swinging your right leg over the saddle cantle (when you're the most at risk during mounting) and would jump straight up into the air and then try to stomp you while you were in the ground.

Only humans exceed horses in treachery and stupidity. Novices tend to view their horses trough rose inted glasses.
