Texas Democrats Flee State

The governor should announce that he will declare those seats vacant and appoint replacements if the Democrats refuse to sit in them.

They should have taken the union with them.

Cowards. They refuse to do their jobs. Each one should be subject to immediate recall.

All those "sick" teachers should be fired for fraud. If they're sick, how can they be out in the winter westher at Madison and elsewhere.

I taught public school for 15 years. Never took a "mental health/sick" day. When I was out, it involed either military duty or the sickness of myself or a family member. Texas teachers have never gone on strike (to my knowledge). Our collective attitude was that we had a duty to our students, their parents and the community.

I don't think I want to identify myself anymore as a retired teacher.

Here in Texas we'e had some Democrats flee.....across the aisle and become Republicans.
While we do have some "wet teachers" especially the Ed. School admin. types, we also have a good number of old school types.
I remember one who when talking off the record about the no guns in school rule after a hostage incident, said, "If someone shows up in my class room and threatens my students with a gun, I'm going to shoot him dead."

So often, when folks ask me 'why' this problem or that problem persists, I respond "Because there are too many Democrats in office."

Think about it, and there are a lot of questions that answer is perfect for.

In this case, I am exactly correct. One fewer Democrat state senator, hence one more Republican, and there would be a quorum to enact Scott Walker's agenda.

I saw a news story about how they had the police out looking for those Donk legislators. My initial thought was, "Won't do any good unless they have orders to shoot to kill."

They probably fled the state, and are now out of jurisdiction.

Which is why I advocated declaring the offices vacant. Give them one chance to show up at the capital to prove they are not dead. Have the cops waiting with leg irons.

They can wear county work crew orange while they sit in their chairs and vote. Or they can resign.

I think that day has come.
