Field Goal Kicker Vs Guys With Shotguns
An idea which time has come

What a great idea for audience participation.  Imagine: Alabama v. Auburn ... .  And what about Political Debates  v Guys With Shotguns?

...and they celebrated by tearing down the goalposts.

Now let's try it with golf balls.

This is a fantastic idea. It is soooo Gay. Here's to you: large, inflatable, slow-moving, parabolic-tragectory, target-shooting men.

I prefer clays for all the obvious reasons—faster launch, lower cost, truer flight, and better visuals. But that's just me.

For the guys who like sloppy seconds and can't get their bead up, why not shoot flying pigs instead of birds?

When that gets boring, the mooks can shoot at stationary sticks. Ooooohyeaaaaah, we busted a 2x4.

Next month, they can all get together for a group bath, whether they need it or not. Hahaha, gun porn indeed.

Why are they shooting at the balls? The contest is kicker vs shooters not balls vs shooters. If they just shot the kicker they would have only needed one shell.

You can make shooting at a stationary stick a competition.

Black powder Rendezvous' do it all the time. Set a pair of 4x4 fence posts in the ground, and have two teams of shooters compete to see which team can cut their post in half first.

IOtW linked this video. Among other things, it has a field goal kicker.

Kristopher, get a grip. Muzzleloaded pumpkin balls ≠ semi-auto 12 gage buffoonery. I get wound about this, because the Brady bunch uses this kind of reckless shooting as evidence that all gun owners are irresponsible.

The key element of muzzleloading is loading. Shooting accurately at *anything* thereafter qualifies as a valid gun sport. I agree that the competition you mention is a great idea. Bring us the video. I will applaud.

You could do it with coach guns loaded with slug or buckshot ... heh.

Would make a good SASS event.

I don't have a video of a post shoot, as most people at Rondys are in deep re period garb. Might be a good project this spring to film one.

I know that an attempt to film one by one of the cable networks a few years ago concentrated on Hawk and Knife competition, and pretended there were no firearms at the event ... this needs to be corrected.
