Just 10 minutes ago I wondered how I'd  reach the stray sock on my desk.

Actually, we have one of these and it's really great for removing overhead bulbs, and such.

We use one to get the (local) newspaper (we never subscribed to) that keeps being "delivered" to the roof over our porch.

Definitely useful, despite the stigma attached that "it's only for old people!"

In a wheel chair that gadget is indispensable. At 5'4" (AKA) "tall people's arms." Very useful indeed. Also useful is a long handled set of tongs.

Pine cones in the yard.
I get hundreds.
The thing's great for that.
Yeah, even retrieved a sock from behind the dryer.
