Rodger, I'm pretty sure there is a place for this fellow in the Barn Army: http://ogdaa.blogspot.com/

He's in Modesto. That's a good place to refuel and rearm.

Ye4ah, I linked to that toon for just that reason. He'll have to display some fealty first, of course.

Ok -- question: How much radiation was detected along the West Coast after Hiroshima?

[real question]

Zero, since they made no effort to detect it at the time.

They didn't find out how dangerous that fallout was until after they had set a few off.

That being said, I think we aren't in any real danger. We didn't see waves of mass death in the US after two nukes were set off over there. A few plants quietly having Three Mile Island events aren't going to make us glow in the dark.

eClaire, I have wondered the same thing. I come back, like Kristopher, to the supposition that there were no reported ill effects from them, or that we aren't all mutated from the ones our own gov. set off in Nevada.

That's a damned good question Éclair asked. In the (unsuccessful) process of looking it up, I came across this discouraging report.

"Walgreen’s pharmacist tells us that they have no more Potassium Iodide because the government has seized all Potassium Iodide supplies."

Which from past experience means it will be warehoused and lost. Can't have people taking care of themselves though, can we?

"Testing finds no health threat along West Coast"....?

Well SOMETHING is wiping out all those brain cells in San Francisco!

Democrats, oh yeah.
That's right, they're born that way, ain't they.

I know a sweet little fishing hole for rainbow trout that is right across the highway from the Nevada Test Site. Back in the 80's my room mate caught a 12 inch trout that was trying to grow a second head. We quit eating the fish from there. True story. The place is called cold creek and it's on the same road as the Indian Springs Prison. Indian Springs is where Creech AFB (home of the Thunderbirds) is located.

Well Rodge, that made me look up the largest privately held dealer of KI and this is what he said, still back logged and shipping what they have, not out of stock just over whelmed.

Japan had this to say "We also got a word from Japan that Japanese government has banned sales of over sensitive electronic detectors to public to minimize the panic and worry."

"minimize the panic and worry." means get in the govt's way of dealing with other stuff. Or "Screw you" to the lay man.

A good read.
