Obama the Duke of Oil

Obama says words about Afghanistan
It's always interesting when Obama says words, because then you can compare those words to reality. TheDC's Neil Munro reports: "President Barack Obama is gambling that his gradual military withdrawal from Afghanistan won't prompt the tribal country to spin out of control in the next 12 months and will help him run as a jobs-and-growth candidate in 2012. 'America, it is time to focus on nation building here at home,' Obama declared in his prime-time announcement from the White House." Nation building, or bilking? Munro continues:

Obama White Paper
Blah-blah-blah.  Since Obama became president U.S. casualty rate in Afghanistan increased 5-fold;  relations with the Afghan government went into the tank, and the thought-for-dead Taliban resurged.

If my home was under siege by the Taliban (and this Marylander thinks it is), and congressional democrats showed up to help me fight them off,  I'd dispatch them straight away as an act of self defense.   Even during WWII Roosevelt's cabinet and State Department were riddled with Stalinists;  it's been downhill for democrats since then.

Undeniable Truth #1 - The United States will never again win an extended conflict if Democrats have any meaningful role in government.  End of discussion. Brrrrp-Brrrrp!

And thus has it ever been. WWI doesn't count because we were a minor player. WWII doesn't count because the Bill Donovans of this world allowed themselves to be used by FDR, much like Gates has fronted for the Kenyan. I suspect that Truman disbanded the OSS because Donovan the Republican created it. A year later the idiot Truman discovered that the Soviets really were commies, and established the CIA with all those guys Donovan had recruited.

Casca, I think WW1 does count because that SOB Wilson used it to thrust a reluctant US populace into world affairs. He did it with a heavy hand, making use of the newly discovered art of professional public relations, imprisoning those who disagreed, started government/banking cronyism and did his very best to discard chunks of our Constitution in order to start a world government.
He also got 120,000 young men killed in only 9 months of combat, back when our population was about 1/3 of what it is today. Can you imagine the howls if we had over 300,000 dead in the first 9 months of the WOT?. As to being a minor player, well, we had 2,000,000 men under arms in France at the Armistice and another 2,000,000 in the pipeline stateside. In a post-war interview, a high German official stated that the Germans thought they would be in Paris in September of 1918, and were stunned by the events of 15-17 July, 1918, when their armies were turned back just 30 miles from Paris by a fresh, strong American army who gave nary an inch to the German's last offensive. It's true we didn't have to endure the devastation and enormous losses of the Europeans, but we did turn the tide in 1918.

Dick, notwithstanding my natural inclination to dismiss all facts that don't support my conclusion, yes, we were the incremental straw that broke the kraut's back. To my point, Wilson wasn't calling the shots in the execution of the war. Alas the Brits and Frogs were exhausted at the end, and they let the shithead influence the peace.

Wilson wasn't calling the shots in the execution of the war
After the Americans started arriving, the Allies agreed Foche would run the war, but America did have a big say about the actual fighting, in that to his credit, Pershing would not allow the French and Brits to feed Americans piecemeal into their understrength divisions to make up for losses, but rather insisted Americans would fight as the units they arrived in, for the most part.
Wilson stayed in France about four months after the Armistice, angling for a position of strength. He got his League of Do Nothings, but he let Clemenceau cock the gun for WW2 by allowing an Armistice instead of a surrender and forcing untenable reparations on Germany. Both conditions provided fodder for the Brownshirts to blame their government for "the stab in the back" and overturn it.
The Progs have taken a century to corrupt the institutions of our country an inch at a time. I hope Captain Bullshit's massive ineptness abroad and at home makes enough people aware of and angry at the utter failures of the Left's ideas and leads to the overrthrow of Captain Bullshit & Co.
