THE EPA is killing us

.. a lot of contractors have moved into the home
repair/remodel business, little has been said about new
EPA regulations ... For one, homes built prior
to 1979 will be
required to have lead testing
done before any work
can commence. ....

I spring from that culture where people do their own home remodeling. It usually tends to be a family affair where everyone brings some sort of skill, and it's done on weekends and after work. Permits? If you need permits, your neighbors live too damn close.

I'm in home improvement. This stuff is going to kill the industry. I sub for a very large corporation and they are terrified of the regulations. The amount of time paperwork, meetings and work going into covering their ass from fines from the EPA or lawsuits is ridiculous. I'm terrified personally. I'm required to keep documentation for 30 years per the regs. Plenty of time for the lawyers to sift through. I'm guessing they about double the the amount of work to get anything done in the field. Have to post a sign that says "poison" and hand the customer a brochure with a snitch hotline to the EPA. It's a setup for the lawyers plain and simple.

You think so, take a look at this

I is one of the most terrifying stories I read this year. I think they have one. The freedom loving survivors are being picked off at this point. Even if they have to ride 80 miles into the desert to find them. Very depressing.

Thank God Bill Clinton gave us 100,000 more cops to ignore real problems and collect taxes for our government masters.

So, the imperial federal government has put in an asinine set of rules lest a half milligram of lead dust escape into the atmosphere....

------ BUT ------

They are requiring that we fill our homes and businesses with curly cues full of MERCURY vapor.. ONe of the most toxic substances known encased in fragile, thin glass...

I have more respect for the stuff that goes into my toilet bowl than these limp dicked washington cluster farkers.
