Reid expects Tea Party to fade away

Reid blamed everything that ails Washington and the nation on Republicans. He slammed the GOP for its refusal to go along with tax increases as part of this month's debt-ceiling deal, saying hard-core fiscal conservatives are making it impossible to strike a long-term deal that slows the growth of the national debt. Tea Party’s heyday may be coming to an end, say political experts
The reign of the Tea Party may be coming to an end in Washington, according to academic political experts who say polls show a backlash against the conservative movement.

Two national polls released this month by CNN and The New York Times in conjunction with CBS News showed the Tea Party’s unfavorable rating at an all-time high. [The HILL}

Tea Party Movement Getting Americans Steamed

"The Tea Party has become somewhat less popular over time, even before the current debt crisis," said Carroll Doherty, Assistant Director of the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. [TPM]
Question.  Who's the leader of the Tea-Party?
Answer:  There isn't one

The Tea Party is about being spontaneously pissed at the established political classes who've legislated a socialism that controls every muscle of national endeavor;  ruined our economy, and blocks every avenue to success.  I said pissed off!

  1. Congress' approval rating hits an all-time low -

  2. Obama's Approval Rating Drops to Lowest Ever

Here's when we'll know the tea-party  is finished.  When it comes under the umbrella of an organization called the National Tea Party, complete with elected chairman and official party policy that is more than "We want our country back!" .  Until that happens the tea party is  an idea that can't be ended by the wishes of  pissant democrats and establishment Republicans.

And when it becomes TOO organized it may lose focus. Lots of good ideas turn into self licking lolipops after awhile.

The Tea Party will fade away. This will happen after the likes of Harry Reid are known to have been dead for decades and their graves stained yellow from their "admirers"

I can't imagine that the guy from Philidelphia doesn't understand the Tea Party and what it represents.

I don't put much stock in Pew's polling, but I wonder where he thinks all those Republican freshman in the House and Senate came from.

The RNC certainly had nothing to do with it - other than being the serendipitous beneficiary of the Tea Party efforts and movement.

I don't align myself with the GOP and plan to vote against Bob Corker for U.S. Senator in 2012 and against the GOP's Presidential candidate if it's Mitt Romney,__________ (empty space left in honor of TPaw), Newt (no threat here, even if all the other candidates died), Huntsman or any of the other clowns who may have an interest in the job.

I would vote for Perry, Bachman or Palin, but I can't think of anyone else I would vote for in 2012.

No more McCain, Dole, GWB (2004 edition).

But let's face it, the guy from Pew has never even voted for a GOP school board member, so his trying to get inside the mind of freedom-minded Americans is tantamount to a trip abroad for him.

It's going to be a long election cycle for him, I believe.

In politics, if you're not rubbing some people the wrong way and stepping on their toes, you're not doing it right.
